Structured return to function

Post-Injury & Post-Surgery Rehabilitation

Recovery after an injury or procedure should follow the diagnosis, healing stage, restrictions, and goals. SCHR builds progressive rehabilitation plans and coordinates with other providers when surgical protocols or medical clearance guide care.

When it may be considered

Care begins with the reason behind the recommendation.

  • Restoring motion after immobilization or reduced activity
  • Rebuilding strength and confidence
  • Progressing work, daily, or sport-specific tasks
  • Supporting a documented recovery plan

Expectations

What happens afterward

Recovery is rarely linear. The plan should account for flare-ups without abandoning objective progress. New swelling, wound concerns, fever, unexpected weakness, or symptoms outside the expected course may require medical review.

Contact the office if symptoms change unexpectedly or you are unsure whether a reaction is normal. Emergency symptoms should be evaluated through urgent or emergency medical care.

Common questions

Post-Injury & Post-Surgery Rehabilitation FAQs

Do I need clearance after surgery?

Often yes. Bring the surgeon's protocol and any written restrictions.

Can SCHR coordinate with my provider?

The office can discuss appropriate record sharing and care coordination with your authorization.

When can I return to sport?

Return decisions depend on healing, symptoms, function, sport demands, and any physician restrictions—not only time elapsed.
